Elaine Larson, PhD, RN, FAAN, CIC, Professor of Pharmacological and Therapeutic Research at Columbia University School of Nursing, has been selected for the Sigma Theta Tau International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame. The induction will be held at the International Nursing Research Congress July 11-14 in Cancun and is in recognition for Dr. Larson’s long-term, broad national and international research which has had a profound impact on the profession and the people it serves.

Debra Bingham, DrPH, RN, LCCE of Alpha Zeta Chapter has been accepted as a mentor in the Sigma Theta Tau International Maternal-Child Leadership Academy, supported by Johnson and Johnson Corporate Contributions. Dr. Bingham will serve as a mentor for Elizabeth Broome, RN, BSN. Leigh Small, RN, PhD, CPNP from Arizona State University College of Nursing & Health Innovation will assist Dr. Bingham as she guides her mentee’s leadership development throughout the 18-month MCH program.

Since 2004, the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) and Johnson & Johnson (Johnson & Johnson Pediatric Institute LLC and Johnson & Johnson Corporate Contributions) have collaborated to present the Maternal-Child Health Leadership Academy. To date, over 110 nurses have participated in the academy, which prepares maternal-child health nurses and nurse midwives for effective inter-professional team leadership as they strive to improve the quality of health care for childbearing women and children up to 5 years old.
