Degree candidates are invited and encouraged to participate in the University Commencement on May 18, 2010. Academic regalia is required for all degree candidates. Each degree candidate can receive four tickets for the Morningside Commencement, which can be given to friends and family (a degree candidate needs no ticket if he or she is wearing academic regalia).

There is no limit on the amount of guests students may bring.
Academic regalia required for all MS and Doctoral degree candidates.
White Coats required for all BS candidates.

Doors to the Graduation Ceremony will open at 1:00 p.m. for guest seating. The ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 pm.There will be a reception immediately following the Graduation Ceremony at The Riverside Church for graduates and their guests.
For May graduates, diplomas will be available at the reception after the ceremony.
For February and May graduates, SON pins will be available at the reception after the ceremony.
A professional photographer will take pictures of each graduate during the SON ceremony. Photos will be available to students and their families for purchase.
The Office of Disability Services (ODS) is pleased to coordinate any disability related services or accommodations for graduates or their guests with disabilities for the University's Commencement activities. Graduates that have any guests that require disability seating at the School of Nursing Graduation Ceremony should contact Tania Quispe in the Office of Student Affairs at tpq2101@columbia.edu. At the SON Graduation ceremony, the accessible entrance for guests with disabilities or elderly guests who may have difficulty climbing stairs is located at 91 Claremont Avenue between 120th and 122nd Streets.Are you expecting out of town family and guests for graduation?
